Bio

Hi, I’m Allan Kestenbaum, and I’m passionate about health, wellness, and human movement. My fitness journey started 15 years ago, after struggling with my weight as a teenager. Like many, I started with cardio—thinking it was the key to losing weight. But as I learned more, I realized that the path to true health and performance involves much more than just running on a treadmill.


Originally from Honduras, I moved to Texas almost 17 years ago. Over time, my curiosity about fitness and nutrition grew into a lifelong pursuit of knowledge. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Food from the University of Houston, followed by a second Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. I earned multiple certifications from there, including my CrossFit Level 1, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Corrective Exercise Specialist. In 2018, I became FMS-certified, and in 2021, I completed my CrossFit Level 2 certification.


I’ve been fortunate to experiment with different training and dietary approaches, using myself as a test subject for the past 15 years. This hands-on learning has helped me refine my methods and continuously improve as a coach. I’ve been guiding clients for 8 years, using a combination of movement optimization, nutrition coaching, and corrective exercise.


The key to success is a personalized approach. Everyone is different, and there is no "one-size-fits-all" when it comes to training or nutrition. What works for one person may not work for another, but through education, I strive to help people feel confident in their bodies and food choices.


I embrace a “jack of all trades” mentality. I’m proficient in various aspects of fitness and wellness because I believe in being well-rounded. If there’s something I don’t know, I’ll learn it. Knowledge is our most valuable asset—it’s something no one can ever take away from us. And the more we learn, the more we can connect with people from all walks of life—whether it’s about veganism, bodybuilding, CrossFit, or anything in between.


At CrossFit Threshold, my goal is simple: help you discover what works for YOU. It’s not about fitting into a specific mold but finding an activity you can consistently enjoy and thrive with.
